An Invitation to Share Your Software

You are invited to submit your nice Smalltalk-based software to the 7th ESUG Innovation Technology Awards. The top three teams with the most innovative software will receive, respectively, 500 Euros, 300 Euros and 200 Euros during an awards ceremony at the 18th International Smalltalk Joint Conference 2010 in Barcelona, Spain (September 13-17). No constraints are put on the software except that it should be Smalltalk-based or Smalltalk-related, and all flavors of Smalltalk are accepted. For more details, click here. Fourth Smalltalk User Meet-up Scheduled in Cologne, Germany

The fourth Smalltalk User Meet-up is scheduled for September 30 in Cologne, Germany. Anyone interested in Smalltalk is invited including those who have recently discovered the magic of doing things the Smalltalk way, are a diehard VM Hacker, want to share your experience on web development in Seaside or like to chitchat while enjoying a Kölsch. The meet-up will start at 7:00 p.m. at Vision Factory GmbH, Sömmeringstr. 75, 50823 Köln (across the yard at the rear house). If you plan to attend, please send a short notice to laza@blobworks.com.

Smalltalk User Group to Meet in Frankfurt, Germany

The next Smalltalk User Group in Frankfurt, Germany takes place on September 21, 2010 in the offices of ITS-People GmbH, Frankfurt/Main, Lyoner Str. 44-48. The meeting will feature Alan Knight, Engineering Manager Cincom Smalltalk and lead developer of GLORP, who will talk about the internals and optimization of GLORP. Also, Arden Thomas, Cincom Smalltalk Product Manager, will be there to answer your questions and listen to your suggestions about the further development of Cincom Smalltalk.
